On February 13, Korea University Sejong Campus and its Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SK Shieldus Co., Ltd. at the Research and Business Cooperation Building to foster specialized human resources in artificial intelligence (AI) security and establish employment linkage programs.

The agreement proceeded to cultivate professionals in the information security industry, a key sector of Sejong City’s future strategic industries. Reflecting the regional characteristics of Sejong as an administrative city, both institutions plan to focus on nurturing human resources specialized in AI-based administrative security and public data protection.

Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in various areas, including: △ operating an employment-linked shared major in AI security, △ joint development of practice-oriented AI security curricula, △ research collaboration and academic exchange in AI security, △ field training and internship programs for undergraduate and graduate students, △ joint research and projects based on industry field data, △ expanded participation of AI security professionals in educational programs.

This partnership is particularly meaningful as it aims to strengthen students’ practical competencies through customized education and hands-on training programs that reflect industry demand, thereby establishing a virtuous cycle of research and business cooperation that supports outstanding human resources entering the workforce. In the research domain, the collaboration is expected to expand empirical research and applied technology development in AI security by integrating the university’s technological expertise with corporate field data.

Through this agreement, Korea University Sejong Campus plans to advance its AI security-specialized education model and establish a professional workforce training system aligned with regional industries. SK Shieldus will also incorporate its accumulated expertise and operational experience in cybersecurity into educational and research programs to generate tangible outcomes in research and business collaboration.

Relatedly, the two institutions plan to gradually expand joint projects and evidence-based research initiatives. In the mid to long term, they are expected to contribute to establishing a regional AI security professional hub centered on the Chungcheong region and strengthening industrial competitiveness.
